You Must Obey.[/b] O.O[/size]
Don't be alarmed by the sheer quantity of rules. Most are just common sense. Failure to follow rules the first time will result in nothing more than a 'Hey, cut that out' PM. Drastic measures will only be taken if someone continuously ignores me and my orders.
1) Try to stay active.
2) Use proper grammar and spelling. I don't care if you've got a few comma errors, but PLEASE make your posts understandable. Use the spell checker yeah?
3) Don't curse every other word (it gets annoying). Especially if it's OOC.
4) I don't really care about mature topics, just label that it's for mature readers with an {M} before the title. We will not be enforcing a 'fade to black' policy so that is your choice.
5) Be nice. Don't be rude, and don't get into OOC fights.
6) When role playing, do it in third person.
7) If you have more than one character, list them in your signature.
8) Collect plugs not drugs. (No muggle drugs or cigarette use.)
9) We're looking for diversity! If there are too many Gryffindors, make a Ravenclaw. If we have 75% female characters, make a male. If we have all gay characters, make a het character.
10) Mary Sues / Gary Stus are no fun. No fun at all.
11) I will be regulating special abilities, e.g. Veela, Animagi, Werewolves, and Metamorphmagi. You must ask me via PM if you want to make a character with an ability. Ghosts, goblins and house elves do not need this permission.
12) You may have as many different characters as you like, but I do ask that you have a different account for each one. Please have your character's first and last name as your displayed name.
13) Graphics in a RP thread are unnecessary. I mean, if you just couldn't resist, that's fine. But unnecessary all the same.
14) Banners should not stretch the page. They should be a reasonable size. Please keep them Dudley style. i.e. Wider than they are tall.
15) 'No Godmoding' is a common enough rule. If you are involved in a duel, a class when casting spells, or a fight, please let a Mod (or find one to) intervene with a small post stating the effects of each player's spell.
16) Post sizes! Please don't write a novel. No one-liners. Keep it around, roughly 2-5 paragraphs to each IC post.
17) Thoughts should be in italics. OOC lines when posted in an IC thread should be in double ((parenthesis)).
18) Obviously, don't post IC until your character is accepted.
19) If a known canon character has a particular job, only that character may apply for it. For instance, only Severus Snape can apply for the position of Potions Master. Only Minerva McGonagall can apply for Headmistress of Hogwarts. You must PM me to request to be an exception to this rule.
20) All characters must have a job unless they attend school, are known to be unemployed from canon, or have a very good reason to not need to earn their living.
21) Characters must roleplay their jobs at least once a month.
22) Students must attend all assigned classes. If you're late, points will be docked. codeword is Expelliarmus If you continuously never show up for class, your student could be expelled.
23) If you would like a banner with your character's picture on it (and I encourage you to do this), please claim the celebrity whose picture you are using on the Celebrity Claim thread.
24) If you would like to modify your character's bio to change the content (not the spelling or wording) please send me a PM about it. You may only change something if it hasn't yet been contradicted in someone's RP. For instance, you can only change your character's name if you haven't RPed with that character yet. Same goes for their house. However, if you've never posted IC about your character being born in Amsterdam, you can change their birthplace to London.
Any questions? PM me.
No, like seriously. I get so excited when I get mail. It's even better on a forum when you know you won't be let down with spam.
